Based in London, CM Sounds is a youth and community music organisation that provides creative music-making opportunities for people of all backgrounds.

We do this through a diverse and exciting programme of courses, live gigs, informal training and events including degree-level music production and business training, free instrumental tuition, career development and support packages, music leader training courses and a host of live events from small intimate gigs in our purpose-built theatre to hosting our own stage at the Underage Festival. All of our programme is either free or very low cost to the user.

Our experience, diverse team and industry-standard facilities mean that we are able to work directly within the local community, running grass-roots projects and delivering tailor-made training and support on a one-to-one and group level while also offering our programme on a national and international basis.

We work with children, young people and adults aged 13 and up. We aim to provide a safe, welcoming space where young people and adults can explore the music-making opportunities available to them, try new things and develop a passion for music.

All our tutors and leaders are professional musicians or producers currently working in the music industry. We train all our music leaders in-house and all our tutors are fully qualified and highly experienced.

We work in partnership with a host of local and national companies, institutions and professionals to ensure our provision is of the highest quality. Our partners include the University of Westminster, London Borough of Tower Hamlets, Tower Hamlets Arts and Music Education Service, Eat Your Own Ears and Futureversity to name but a few.

CM for business

Taking part in a group creative process enhances so many core skills.

We see profound examples of participants dealing with communication, self expression, compromise, creativity and performance.

Music is an amazingly supportive medium, enabling participants to experience these emotions whilst doing something fun.

There is absolutely no need for previous musical experience – our team of fully trained tutors work with novices through to professional musicians and are experts at judging pace and content.

Your team will leave with meaningful content at the end of the session. This can range from an individual piece of music through to a full company performance, recorded and filmed and ready for you to use as part of your own digital content.

We cater for individuals, small teams or full departments. Our range of activities include;

  • Compose & Record a Song
  • Band in a Day
  • Creative Thinking
  • The Sound of Your Company
  • Rhythm & Vocal Workshops
  • Design Your Own Experience

This film highlights the way we are working in collaboration with some of the large financial corporations in our community
