About the weekend
Join us in London for a wonderful weekend of training opportunities, packed with graded singing and conducting courses!
Whether you want to try your hand at conducting for the first time, improve your musicianship skills, or simply refresh the knowledge you've gained on previous courses, you can look forward to a challenging and enjoyable time in a relaxed but stimulating environment.
Each course offered during the weekend is designed to provide an engaging,
encouraging atmosphere in which to learn and practise techniques, and to increase your
knowledge and understanding.
- Our ever popular Choral Conducting courses at Foundation, Intermediate 1 and Intermediate 2 levels, catering for absolute beginners upwards
- A Choral Conducting Masterclass for experienced conductors, replacing our Advanced level course (though some places may be available for students currently taking the Intermediate 2 course). Masterclasses are an ideal way for participants to benefit from feedback from leading choral conductors; Manvinder Rattan will be joined by visiting guest tutor Jean Claude Wilkens this year, and they will both devote the entire weekend to team-teaching a selection of challenging a cappella works.
- Our new Musicianship for Singers course at Intermediate 2 level – for those already confident in sight reading music - develops participants' understanding of music theory from a singer's point of view, and uses practical worked examples to explore the core skills underpinning their vocal progression. It's important for prospective attendees to check that their level of knowledge and experience is appropriate for the Intermediate 2 course, and a simple self-assessment test is available on the February Weekend event listing page of our website.
