The Suzuki Method is based on the philosophy that talent is developed not inherited. To that end, the method's creator, Shinichi Suzuki (1898-1998), developed his famous violin method that incrementally builds technical proficiency through a carefully designed sequence of repertoire, based on familiar folk tunes from the Western classical tradition.
This part 1 of the course specifically focusses on the following skills:
- Detaché bow stroke
- Staccato bow stroke
- Finger preparation and placement
- Left hand spacing patterns for keys of A, G, and D major
- Concepts of good tone production
- Legato bowing
